WHITE PAPER CLEANUP
Make Your Signature Background White
Reduce grey paper, yellow tint and uneven lighting around a handwritten signature. Inspect the ink, download a white JPG, then choose your form’s dimensions and file-size limits.
Your images stay on your device. No account required.

Paper & ink cleanup
For ink on paper. Local lighting correction helps reduce camera shadows. Inspect faint and detached strokes.
Check dots and detached strokes: separate marks may be removed.Tips for a better result
Crop close to the paper before choosing the image. Lower cleanup strength if thin strokes disappear. Heavy shadows, patterned paper and blur may need a clearer scan. Document photos and shaded artwork can lose detail.
Turn a paper photograph into a clean white signature image
- Choose a clear signature image. Photograph plain paper straight on in even light, with all strokes inside the frame.
- Remove and inspect. Apply removal, then check thin lines and dots. Lower Cleanup strength if faint ink disappears.
- Download White JPG. For a form with specific pixel or KB requirements, continue to the resizer and select the matching settings.
Transparent PNG
Place your handwriting in a PDF, Word document or other layout without a white rectangle. The checkerboard in the preview represents transparency; it is not included in the PNG.
White paper for forms
Choose White JPG when the form asks for handwriting on white paper. Verify the required format, dimensions and file limits in the current instructions. JPG cannot preserve transparency.
Reduce shadows before processing
Place the paper near soft, even daylight. Keep the phone and your hand out of the light path. Hold the camera parallel to the sheet and leave space around the signature. Harsh shadows and blur can hide detail that cleanup cannot recover.
Use the generated Blue ink, Faint ink and Paper shadow samples above to see how the controls behave. They illustrate the workflow; they are not accuracy benchmarks or evidence of portal acceptance.

Questions about signature background removal
How do I keep faint pen strokes?
Choose All ink, lower Cleanup strength and compare the result with View original. Inspect loops, dots and detached strokes. If a stroke is missing or the source is blurry, use a clearer scan or retake the photo in even light.
Can I remove grey lines around blue ink?
Blue / purple ink can help separate coloured handwriting from grey ruling. It also removes black ink, so use All ink for black signatures or mixed-colour writing. Check the whole signature before saving.
Will every paper shadow disappear?
Lighting correction estimates the paper colour around each part of the image. Strong shadows, patterned paper and low contrast can leave residue or lose ink. A clearer photo is the better starting point when the preview cannot preserve the writing.
Does this create a signature or sign a PDF?
This tool cleans the visible handwriting in an existing image. It does not generate a new handwritten signature or sign a document. Download a transparent PNG, then insert it in your document editor.
Should I download PNG or JPG?
Download Transparent PNG to retain a see-through background. JPG uses a solid background: white, or the custom colour you selected. Both downloads retain the source dimensions; the displayed file sizes are measured from the generated files.
Can I choose dimensions and a KB limit?
Choose Resize Photo or Resize for an Exam after processing. Your cleaned image opens in the resizer on a white background. Select the relevant preset or enter your own dimensions and file-size limits, then inspect the final crop and export checks.
Are my images uploaded?
The image-processing steps run in your browser. Continuing to the resizer stores a temporary image copy locally in your browser and removes that copy when the resizer reads it. Image contents and filenames are not included in workflow analytics.
Which files can I open?
Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP up to 25 MB and 20 megapixels. PDF pages must first be saved as image files. The separate resizer accepts images up to 15 MB; a larger cleanup result can still be downloaded.
